Information about Asmanex Twisthaler (Mometasone)

  • Asmanex Twisthaler is primarily used as a maintenance treatment for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps to prevent and control asthma symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and coughing by reducing inflammation in the airways.

Product Highlights

  • Asmanex Twisthaler is available as a dry powder inhaler (DPI).
  • Typically available in doses of 110 mcg and 220 mcg per inhalation.
  • It is used once or twice daily depending on the prescribed dose and the severity of the condition.
  • The inhaler is designed to be easy to use with a simple twist mechanism to release the medication.

Key Ingredients

  • Mometasone furoate

Key Benefits

  • Mometasone reduces inflammation in the airways, which helps to prevent asthma attacks and manage chronic symptoms.
  • Regular use can lead to better control of asthma and COPD symptoms, resulting in improved breathing and reduced need for rescue inhalers.
  • Provides extended relief and control of symptoms with once or twice daily dosing.

Direction For Use

  • Preparation: Twist the base of the inhaler to open it and activate the dose counter.
  • Inhalation: Breathe out fully, away from the inhaler. Hold the inhaler level with the mouthpiece facing you. Inhale deeply and steadily through your mouth, making sure not to breathe out into the inhaler.
  • Post-Inhalation: After inhaling, hold your breath for about 10 seconds, then exhale slowly. Close the inhaler by twisting the base back to its original position.
  • Rinse Mouth: After each use, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to help prevent oral thrush.
