Information about Plaquenil

Plaquenil has a cumulative effect, meaning it takes several weeks to reach its full benefit in treating your condition. While minor side effects may appear sooner, the therapeutic impact builds over time. Your doctor will determine the dosage of Plaquenil based on the severity of your disease and your response to treatment.

The good news is that Plaquenil can be safely combined with other medications, including corticosteroids, salicylates, NSAIDs, methotrexate, and other second-line therapies.

However, it's important to note that Plaquenil's safety for treating juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is still under investigation.
