Selincro is used to treat alcohol dependence. Selincro is prescribed to assist in the reduction of alcohol consumption when the patient has not been able to reduce intake on their own. Selincro should be taken alongside of counselling as a holistic approach to treatment.
Selincro affects brain processes that are responsible for the urge to drink.
Selincro is taken as required by the patient according to their own perception. If there is a feeling of risk that you will drink alcohol, then one tablet is taken. The tablet is to be taken approximately 1 or 2 hours prior to the anticipated drinking time. If the patient has already started drinking alcohol, then the patient should take Selincro as soon as possible. One tablet of Selincro per day is the maximum dose, without regards to food.
