Spasmonal

Spasmonal is categorized as an anti-spasmodic medicine.  It relaxes the muscles in the intestine and uterus.  This helps stop the pain felt when the muscles are too tense.  For this reason, Spasmonal is used by people with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).  Symptoms which may be improved include abdominal cramps, diarrhea. constipation, fullness or bloated feeling, urgency to go to the bathroom.  Spasmonal is also used for symptoms of diverticulitis and period pains.

Each Spasmonal capsule contains alverine citrate.  The typical adult dose of Spasmonal is 60mg to 120mg up to 3 times per day.  Spasmonal is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
