Alveogyl Paste

Alveogyl Paste:

Alveogyl Paste is a dental medicament primarily used for the treatment of dry sockets (alveolar osteitis) following tooth extraction. It helps in reducing pain and promoting healing in the affected socket.

Alveogyl can be applied as a dressing after a challenging or traumatic tooth extraction in patients who have previously experienced dry sockets.

Product Highlights

  • Alveogyl Paste is notable for its soothing effect and ability to provide a protective covering over the exposed bone in the socket, which aids in pain relief and accelerates the healing process.
  • Ensures smooth socket filling and strong adherence to the alveolus throughout the healing process.
  • Offers soothing relief to the alveolar tissues throughout the healing process.

Key Ingredients

  • Eugenol
  • Iodoform

The main active ingredients in Alveogyl Paste typically include eugenol, iodoform, and butylparaminobenzoate. Eugenol acts as an analgesic and antiseptic, while iodoform helps in preventing infection. Butylparaminobenzoate contributes to the paste's protective barrier.

Key Benefits

  • Pain Relief: Alleviates discomfort associated with dry sockets.
  • Antiseptic Action: Helps prevent infection.
  • Promotes Healing: Supports the healing of the extraction site.
  • Protective Barrier: Forms a barrier over the socket to aid in recovery.

Direction For Use

  • Apply a small amount of Alveogyl Paste directly into the dry socket using a sterile applicator or instrument. Ensure the entire socket is covered with the paste. Repeat as necessary, typically every 24 to 48 hours, until symptoms subside and healing progresses.

Safety Concern

  • While generally safe when used as directed, individuals with allergies to any of its ingredients should avoid using Alveogyl Paste.
  • Additionally, it should not be applied to open wounds other than dry sockets, as it is specifically formulated for this use.

Avoid Taking Alveogyl Paste If:

  • You are allergic to eugenol, iodoform, or butylparaminobenzoate.
  • The extraction socket is still actively bleeding or if there is any sign of infection other than a dry socket.
  • You have open wounds or cuts that are not related to the tooth extraction site.
