Information about Tadaflo (Tadalafil)

Tadaflo is a prescription drug that contains tadalafil, which is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It is commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Tadalafil works by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels of the penis, allowing increased blood flow, which helps men with ED achieve and maintain an erection when sexually aroused. It is also effective in relieving urinary symptoms associated with BPH.

Product Highlights

  • Tadaflo is primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction, where a man has difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection sufficient for sexual activity.
  • Tadaflo is also indicated for the treatment of BPH, a condition characterized by an enlarged prostate that causes urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and difficulty urinating.
  • Tadalafil is occasionally used off-label for pulmonary arterial hypertension to relax blood vessels in the lungs and improve exercise capacity, although this indication may vary based on specific formulations and doctor recommendations.

Key Ingredient

  • Tadalafil

Key Benefits

  • Tadaflo offers a long-lasting effect, often up to 36 hours, allowing more flexibility in the timing of sexual activity.
  • Tadaflo is highly effective for treating erectile dysfunction, helping men achieve and sustain an erection when sexually aroused.
  • It can also help reduce urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia, such as frequent urination, urgency, and difficulty urinating.
  • For some patients, Tadaflo can be taken once daily, allowing for spontaneous sexual activity without the need to plan ahead.
  • For men suffering from ED and BPH, Tadaflo can significantly improve both sexual health and urinary function, enhancing overall quality of life.

Direction of Use

  • Tadaflo is taken orally with or without food, typically as a tablet.
  • For erectile dysfunction, Tadaflo can be taken on an as-needed basis before sexual activity, with the usual starting dose being 10 mg taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The dosage can be adjusted based on individual response, up to a maximum of 20 mg. Alternatively, some patients take a lower 2.5 mg or 5 mg dose daily.
  • For benign prostatic hyperplasia, the typical dose is 5 mg once daily.
  • It is important to follow the doctor's instructions on timing and dosage for optimal results.
  • If you miss a dose for the daily regimen, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at the same time to compensate for a missed dose.

Safety Concerns

  • Common side effects may include headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and nasal congestion, which typically resolve within a few hours.
  • Tadaflo may cause a drop in blood pressure, particularly if taken with nitrates or other medications used for chest pain. This can lead to serious cardiovascular complications.
  • In rare cases, tadalafil has been associated with sudden vision loss or changes, including a condition known as non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). If you experience any changes in your vision, contact a healthcare provider right away.
  • Although rare, sudden hearing loss or ringing in the ears has been reported with PDE5 inhibitors.
  • In rare cases, tadalafil can cause a prolonged erection (priapism) that lasts more than 4 hours and requires immediate medical attention to prevent long-term damage to the penis.
  • Patients with severe kidney or liver problems should use Tadaflo with caution, as the medication may accumulate in the body and increase the risk of side effects.

Avoid Tadaflo (Tadalafil) If

  • Avoid using Tadaflo if you are taking nitrates or medications that contain nitric oxide, as this combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
  • If you have severe heart problems, such as heart failure or recent history of heart attack or stroke, you should avoid Tadaflo.
  • If you have severe liver or kidney disease, consult your doctor before using Tadaflo. Adjustments to the dosage may be needed.
  • Do not use Tadaflo if you are allergic to tadalafil or any of its other ingredients.
  • If you have low blood pressure or a history of low blood pressure, you should not use Tadaflo without consulting a healthcare provider.
  • Tadaflo is not intended for use in women or children. It is designed specifically for men with ED and BPH.
