Information About AKYNZEO (Netupitant / Palonosetron):

AKYNZEO capsules are indicated in combination with dexamethasone in adults for the prevention of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of cancer chemotherapy, including highly emetogenic chemotherapy.

AKYNZEO injection formulations, when used together with dexamethasone, are specifically intended to prevent nausea and vomiting in adult patients undergoing highly emetogenic chemotherapy, both immediately after treatment (acute phase) and up to several days afterward (delayed phase).

              This should be given 30 minutes before the start of chemotherapy.

Safety Concerns:

  • Common side effects may include headache, constipation, fatigue, and dizziness.
  • Rare but serious side effects can include allergic reactions, serotonin syndrome (particularly if used with other serotonergic medications), and QT prolongation (especially in patients with certain cardiac conditions or taking other medications that prolong the QT interval).

Avoid Taking if AKYNZEO (Netupitant / Palonosetron):

  • Do not take AKYNZEO if you are allergic to netupitant, palonosetron, or any other ingredients in the medication.
  • Avoid taking AKYNZEO if you are currently using medications that are strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (such as ketoconazole, clarithromycin) or strong CYP3A4 inducers (such as rifampicin, carbamazepine), as these can affect the metabolism of netupitant.
